juni78ukr
So around 110m increase from the first film. Nearly 50m of that came from China. Excluding China it will be 50% increase for rest of the markets. Not that much with 3D, huge screen count and advertising.
A Marvel Fanboy
Paramount should make more movies like WWZ than STID. haha.
4815162342
STID will make close to 7 times ST09's China gross. It is doubling up in South Korea. 68% increase in Hong Kong. 123% increase in Indonesia. It's almost tripled its gross in Malaysia. It's almost doubled up in Philippines. Doubled up in Singapore. ST09 made 5.8 million from Japan. I'm confident STID can get to at least 10m alone from Japan, probably 12-15, based on its growth in Asian markets.

I wouldn't be so sure, Japan has very little connection to to the rest of Asia when it comes to box office.

SentryTrans
I am surprised at China performance. Why they like STID where PROMETHEUS was kind of meh last year..? Its performance in China is higher than expected. The main reason is that Chinese male audiences like watching sci-fi movies and IMAX 3D movies.

A Marvel Fanboy
I am surprised at China performance. Why they like STID where PROMETHEUS was kind of meh last year..? Prometheus did great here last year, stuck between crowded TASM/TDKR/ and Expendables 2, yet still managed to 33M, second biggest OS market for that movie behind UK. Neo
Spain, Greece, Argentina, Venezuela and Japan. Probably also a couple of very small markets. Probably around 10m from the current markets and 10-15m from mentioned above. 235-240m total. An average of 2-3M for 5 markets? Is Japan that weak of a market for STiD? 4815162342
ST09 from those 5 markets made: Argentina- 0.4 Greece- 0.53 Japan- 5.82 Spain- 4.0 Venezuela- 0.57 A total of 11.32m STID is more than doubling ST09 in most Latin American markets. It's doubling ST09 or more in most Asian markets, and for most European markets it's increasing over 50%. My conservative estimate for those 5 countries is 18 million. Even if Japan isn't the same as other Asian markets, the general trend for STID indicates it will go up there.
