tommycruise
If Pacific Rim is a flop then STiD has to be considered one also.Star Trek:190M+ Budget450M WWPacific Rim180-190M Budget400-450M WW The difference is that STID made over 200m and this has like a 1 % of that. If a movie make over 200m dom its pretty much guaranteed to get a sequel. But seeing as how Universal has the rights to the sequel it seems like its going to be their decision, and they might want one even if WB hadn't because they are in need of franchises

STiD justifies a sequel. it was a good film also with great critical reception. cumberbatch is awesome, he's the next big thing. Moviedweeb
Are you sure? A movie with a 300M budget that makes 200M DOM and 20M OS will get a sequel? That is not realistic nor is there a precedent for that. Anyone can make extreme arguments such as–but if a movie makes $700m DOM but cost $1.5 billion to make.... While that is technically correct, arguments such as that ignore the context completely. No film has been made for $200m dollars that made $200m domestic and only 20m OS. That likely will never happen.
