...does Shay live in our reality? Is there some sort of Rick-and-Morty-esque dimension-hopping computer that he uses?

More like you've entered the Shay Zone. Once you're in there's no way out.

I can only imagine your meltdown if this gets nominated for Best Animated Feature ;)

I mean, it's not like there's any competition outside of the two Pixar movies and Shaun the Sheep. Maybe Peanuts but Jury's out there.

I hold FREE BIRDS sacred. Is it for all the wrong reasons? Probably, but that film is amazing and I wish it made as much as Minions.

If Free Birds made more than Inside Out, there would be no complaining from me.

No it wouldn't have.

It obviously isn't hurting OS for good word of mouth.

Good word of mouth would have taken it to 380-390 in the U.S. Which would put it at 1.18-1.19 billion.

Frozen ended at 1.275, still almost 100 million above a best case scenario for Minions.

but 800 os is not the best case scenario for minions...if china does 150-200....even with "just" 325 from DOM...

it could challenge frozen numbers..

Depends how good the word of mouth is.

Wow, Minions isn't going to catch Inside Out domestically. It's not nearly as good as Inside Out, of course, but they hype was so overwhelming that I thought it surely would pass it. Oh well.

Welcome to the forums! :) if I hadn't already  Edited by K1stpierre

Well....there is still DM3. And I think that could be a better movie than Minions, critically-wise.

They could still have the time to give us interesting stories for the characters of Gru and the girls. But it needs to be something that could be emotional as well.
