Harpospoke Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 (edited) http://money.msn.com/investing/10-best-selling-products-ever Couldn't find Peanuts. This might give some indication of how huge Peanuts still is. Charles M. Schulz was 3rd on "dead celebrities" list last year for the 3rd year in a row. (behind only Michael Jackson and Elvis) He's been in the top 5 every year I've seen. http://www.forbes.com/special-report/2013/dead-celebrities.html Edited March 20, 2014 by Harpospoke 2 Quote
Boxx93 Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Beautiful teaser trailer. Now I wish those horrible Smurfs movies would have been more like this. 3 Quote
Fancyarcher Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Beautiful teaser trailer. Now I wish those horrible Smurfs movies would have been more like this. They would also be better if they were completely animated as well (CGI or not). 2 Quote
AniNate Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 That franchise is being rebooted in CGI, at least 2 Quote
Blankments Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 I'm really appreciating studios taking different approaches with CGI nowadays. LEGO was a breath of fresh air, and this looks really neat as well 3 Quote

Unfortunately it may even moreso spell the doom for hand-drawn films, but at least they don't all look the same anymore. 2 Quote
lilmac Posted March 21, 2014 Posted March 21, 2014 I love Peanuts! I plan to be there opening weekend! 5 Quote
SpiderByte Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 I love the stylization on this. My opinion of this literally made a complete 180 the second I saw the way they were animating it. I also love how the logo has the "by Shulz" credit in there. 1 Quote
Blankments Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 I changed my name for this movie. FINALLY 1 Quote
Harpospoke Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 I changed my name for this movie. I'm getting a Snoopy tattoo. (admittedly I had planned to do this before the movie) 1 Quote
Empire Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 62M/239MI don't think it will do those big of a numbers. I see it doing 186M DOM right now. Quote

Peanuts are iconic and they're doing something great with the animation style. The only wild card is the script, but with those related to Shultz involved, I think it should still do great 2 Quote

TServo2049 Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 (edited) I think 186M would be great for Peanuts. For a Blue Sky film? It sure would. Only Ice Age 2-3 have grossed that much domestically. Heck, even adjusted for inflation, no Blue Sky movie outside of Ice Age 1-3 has made that much.As an aside: I hope this bucks the trend of past Blue Sky movies and actually gets a large-scale theatrical release in Japan. I know they're not very receptive to non-Disney/Pixar American animation...but I also know that they love Snoopy. Edited August 31, 2014 by TServo2049 Quote
Ethan Hunt Posted August 31, 2014 Posted August 31, 2014 What the heck, you guys are over predicting this. It will be lucky to gross 100M with all the competition it has. Quote
