Predictable but ok. In books this kind of alien-invasion-scenario was already done 20 or 30 years ago; it was high time someone put this into a film script.

This, basically. Thematically, it's kind of a mash-up remix of many other previous science-fiction films, but it transcends that to really become its own unique special vision.

One of the best science fiction movies ever. A movie where you root for the ugly and partially mean aliens and also feel with the antihero. I hope for an epic sequel where all the well known cleeches are worked into something different again.

One of my favorite scifi films of all time.This was seriously the best directorial debut since Alien and The Terminator. I predict a great future for Neil Blomkampf(or however you spell his last name).

^Alien wasn't Ridley Scott's first movie.This film is great btw. Awesome action and a fantastic leading performance. (Is Copley doing any films nowadays except the new Blomkamp one? That guy should be huge because of this.)

I remember being a little disappointed that the last third gave way to non-stop action (and the abrupt abandonment of the footage medium was noticable) But I hope more movies are made like this. Underdogs that come good.

It's not. Ridley Scott was fully involved with the process of making The Duelists and even though it didn't get a huge release it was still a theatrical one. You can't ignore it just because you feel like it.
