Currently thinking 690m 5days and 1450m (a bit more than 2x opening week) for JW total. So it should be very close to TA2.

That would be remarkable. I'm not getting my hopes up yet, but it's good to see WOM is pretty good.

Calm down. We still do not know how it will play in other markets. If it makes, let's say, $250m in US, it would still need another $500m from OS markets to reach the billion, and that is not easy.

I think we can do better than wild predictions with a thursday numbers. I am thinking $80m weekend for JW while SA can crack 90-100m yuan. Olive or Firedeep can come close for sure.

Probably JW will be with $110m and SA around $80m at the end of this weekend. I think it will be a good outing for both the films!

China Box Office: 'Jurassic World' Scores Monster Opening Day

 

Universal's monster movie Jurassic Worldbared its teeth in the world's second biggest film market on Wednesday (Jun. 10), taking $16.38 million on its opening day in China, for a gross of $17.77 million once preview takings are factored in.

The movie enjoyed 64,630 showings, according to data from the research group Entgroup, and 2.63 million admissions, with theatergoers paying a relatively high $6.40 per ticket.

100% true, Jurasic world will have beter legs than AoU and will do much beter in europe. 1B is locked I think

That is not necessary. Just 4 days more. Until I can see real global numbers I will not lock it. Avengers is doing $700m outside US and China. F7 has done about $760m. To make $450-500 in those same markets is still a superb figure. Likely? sure. Locked? not yet. Said this, I wish we can have a third billion film before half year. It is just that we have commited similar mistakes in the past. I prefer to wait.

JW will make over 300M domestic, more like 330-350M DOM, with 450M OS -C, and 220M CHINA.

great number on Thrusday! I expect a $70 OW so a $100 5 day opening. It has a chance to beat A:AOU but for now i will be happy with $200. OS it's going to make $800 I think
