H&S refused to open on July 26, afraid of slaughtered by LOOKING UP. Stupid Universal prefer a late Aug release.

I thought studios can't refuse a date given by Chinese authorities?

yes they can. it's that the authorities (if they want) can refuse whatever dates studios pick and suggst a different one.

there is usually room to discuss but things dont nessarily end up as studios have wished.

PS is slightly down for tomorrow. Will PSM increase on a friday?

on Maoyan, it does have majority of ticket sales but does it project the rest? Could make correction if its too high? Or Spidey has huge amount of PS for evening shows and so evening the BO just stops.

PSm should increase. Looking for a 10-15% bump.

Who here thinks TLK is going to be bigger than Spidey?

Just 680k its first day of PS with 20k shows.

Decent, but not a big out of the gate pop

I think it will. It’s a family film, not a PS superhero film. Domestically, presales for FFH first 24 hours were about the same size as TLK but TLK could double FFH final number.

Jungle Book did $150m in 2016. I think TLK can get over $200m.

I see right now for TLK:

Friday 702k

Saturday 538k (-24%)

Sunday 465k (-33% relative to Friday)

Obviously TLK will not be as frontloaded as can be a MCU film, and I do not know how to measure Sat and Sun figures relative to a OD presale, but I think these drops are quite good. Or am I wrong and they are just normal?
