Why do people dislike TDKR?

Recommended Posts

Oh, there's such thing of "good lie" and "bad lie" like there's "good crime" and "bad crime", now? Wow.

Rhetorical Hyperbole doesn't suit you. The world is not a black and white place. Everything is on a spectrum and sometimes lies do achieve better results than the truth. And ad hominen attacks only make you look worse.

Batman/Bruce isn't a superhero, so there you go. Half of the nitpicking destroyed. He shall not be making everything to perfection. Whether you like the outcome or not, TDKR is the most ambitious film of its genre and from technical standpoint it's one of the best film put on the screen in the history of film making.

If you can't even grasp the notion that Bane was Talia's bitch since the beginning, you are much more retarded that I initially thought.

This is where you insert what we like to call 'evidence' to support a claim. You are capable of that.....right?For example, the evidence I would put forward that would suggest that Bane was not Talia's bitch was that the one 'order' we saw her make to him. He promptly ignored. That is not the behavior of a 'bitch' in my eyes. Do you think someone's bitch would disobey their mistress like that??? Edited by Phil in the Hobbit

What order did Bane not apply? Not killing Batman right away? So that can let Catwoman shoots Bane to a lame death like the pawn he was? Wait, whether he chooses to kill him right away or not, Catwoman storms to save the day. By that point of the movie that would have changed nothing to follow or not follow Talia's order who leaves him crying like a little bitch. Catwoman turns right away Bane into cannon's fodder. You don't say. What next, King's Speech is the film of the decade? TDKR is a beats and will be a reference for years to come.

You know those technical recognitions are awarded by their peers, right? So Awards mean nothing in the case of King's Speech but if that was TDKR, you'll be braggin' about that to no end.Fanboys logic fail. Edited by dashrendar44

Ok, so you have nothing :) Good to know. Glad we cleared that one up!Talia wanted Batman to 'feel' the fire while Bane was going to kill batman right away, and he would have succeeded if it wasn't for that meddling cat woman! Regardless of how lame you feel Bane's death was, a lame death does not make someone a pawn..The movie makes clear that Bane was fully aware of the plan from the start and agreed with it fully. We don't know exactly the power structure of The League of Shadows as the movie does not fill us in on all the details, but even if Bane was 2nd in command or whatever to Talia, this does not make him a pawn anymore than the mod's here are pawns to Shawn. Just because you are not in charge of an organisation does not make you a pawn! That is ridiculous. If you agree with the aims and goals of the leader then you are not being used. You are not a pawn. Now an example of a pawn villian is the Scarecrow who was enlisted by the League of Shadows to get drugs into Gotham. He however was a pawn because he was not fully aware of what the plan actually was. He thought the city would be held to ransom when in reality the plan was to destroy the city. He was used by Ra's Al Ghul and discarded as soon as his role was completed, he was a pawn.Do you see the difference?

For Bane to be a pawn, he would have to be a disposable element of her plan, something that can be cheaply sacrificed and relatively inessential to success other than drawing attention from the opposition.I think the events of the film clearly indicate Bane is far more substantial than that, since without him Batman can't be taken out of the game for several months, let alone create the underground empire that can run rings around Gotham PD.

But Talia and Bane are not the League Of Shadows. They're acting as such but they're not. Because Bane did not make it. (They explicitly showed us that point in the movie). So he became Talia's puppy to live it by proxy.Who told him Bruce is Batman? Who told him how to break into Wayne Enterprise's Applied Sciences? Who told him to lure Daggett? Who told him to break into Gotham Stock Exchange to ruin Wayne so Talia could take control of the board? How Bane could have exactly conceived such mischievous revenge against Wayne all by himself?Next. Edited by dashrendar44

I don't know, who did? Can you find me a quote in the movie that indicated Bane was told to do all that by Talia?Next.

The fact that a person is given instructions or filled in on information doesn't make him/her a pawn.dash's definition is so broad that it makes everyone except the guy/girl at the tippy-top a pawn, which is completely against the ordinary meaning/usage of the term.Bane is the best/only way Talia is able to disable Bruce and force him into her trap. That makes him essential. An essential piece is not a pawn.Using a chess analogy, a pawn would be one of the random mooks at the stock exchange, Bane is the Queen, and Talia is the King. That sniper guy who continuously shows up as Bane's right-hand stooge is akin to a rook or knight.

Oh, now, If Nolan don't spoonfed you by being told everything by any of the character, you can't use your brain to come to a conclusion all by yourself, smartass. (A logical conclusion by the way). Edited by dashrendar44
