Jack Nevada
Sorry CJohn, but I'm not watching Perks today. Watching TDKR again kinda sucked the juice out of me (its a very long movie), and I also have to write an essay about evolution for tomorrow. ChD
I have to admit, Django is a big surprise. I expected it to barely pass 100M

Poseidon
200M for DU is a lock. Will do more.Inglourious Basterds made another 50m after what was a pretty much comparable 2nd weekend. It may be possible, but at the moment it should be more like 150-175m. Let's see what Oscars can do.
Jack Sparrow
Yep the competition ahead for DU is going to be big. It will surely do great numbers and have good total but those won't be as excellent as they need to be for $200m. If it somehow wins BP then there is a very good chance otherwise I see it topping out at $170m as of now. Plus it is behaving as a blockbuster movie with big mainstream appeal so the Oscar boost won't be big with just nominations.
Krissykins
Nice Saturday drop if you remove midnights and 10pm showings for TC3D.
Jack Nevada
Oh, that's easy, just pretend that you are a creationist, should be a very short essay. I'm not sure if that would work.I'm a fast writer, though, and I have a fridge full of Red Bull, so I might watch the movie and then scratch something together for the essay
Krissykins
Django has leaked online, in perfect quality and has so far been downloaded 128,000 times. Surely this could effect international grosses?Same with The Impossible, Hitchcock and Zero Dark Thirty. All screeners for awards I'm guessing. Shame though, hate piracy.
fishstick
Enough with $200 mio talk for DU, people! You`re setting it up to become Floppit 3 (after Floppit and Floppit 2 aka LM). It`s doing beyond expectations, will pass IB to become QT`s biggest grosser.

It's all over the internet already, so I don't think the studio will be able to act on every single site.

fishstick
And people still wonder why studios love 3D. You can`t bootleg a 3D movie in perfect quality so that forces the audience to see the movie in theater.
druv10
Congrats to DU for 100M. What a impressive run so far.
fishstick
Totally. It needed to get to $100 mio as soon as possible cause R-rated competition is doubling next week (ZDT and Gangster Squad). But it`s a week of Oscar noms too.
