Until this year has some late hits, I don't see it doing too well... It's a bomb waiting to explode.

Agree 100%.

And agree with fishnets - Wilde is awful!

Neither. SHE is really, really crappy. No charisma, no charm, no likable personality. Gets a pass from guys just because she`s kinda hot though in a creepy way so I can see why GA isn`t tripping over themselves to watch her. She`s like Kate Bosworth 2.0. Not gonna happen. They tried so hard with Bosworth it was ridiculous. Surfer flick where she`s in a bikini 100% of the time. Flop. Big franchise. A non-starter. Oscah vehicle. Showmance with then hyped next big thing (Borelando). He flopped and his fangirls hated the showmance anyway. Shwomance with still hyped next thing (ASkaars). He hasn`t properly crossed over into movies and by the look of it (Battleship, Straw Dogs) never will. She doesn`t have real fandom but has real haters. All her movies flopped. Bosworth and Wilde are what I call Unexplicables - despite flops and non-existing fandom they keep working. No one has any explanation why.

I really don't think Olivia is famous or relevant enough for people to actively avoid her movies, thus making her 'Box Office poison'. That would be giving her way too much credit.

Tron: Legacy did okay, it would have done exactly the same without her. And all of the flops she's had would have been flops without her. If I had to label her anything it would just be a big nothing. She might do well on a TV show, but she's not a movie star.

It`s true that calling her a poison when most people don`t know who the fuck she is, people who didn`t watch House, that is, is giving her too much credit. But I think it`s more because those who hate her want to build that kind of bad rep for her so that she stops ruining movies. Deadline Hollywood is a big anti-Wilde Central because industry people lurk there for trend watching. I`m glad that hate spreads because she`s really blah at best awful at worst.

That pretty much sums it up.

I think she is actually a decent actress, not great but certainly not bad either, her being in a movie really has next to no effect on its boxoffice, good or bad . She is a career supporting actress, I don't know if she's ever had an actual leading role, certainly nothing where a movie hangs on her performance. Olivia also has a penchant for choosing parts in not so great movies, about the only other actress I can think of who consistently makes worse choices is Kristen Bell, another pretty good actress who can't seem to choose good roles.

Isn't Olivia Wilde going to be in Her? I've got high hopes for that, even if it doesn't set the BO on fire I'm hoping it's at the very least a quality film (aka something she has never made before) so here's hoping she doesn't taint it with her evil flop voodoo...

It's going to be on par with 2008's gross once summer comes. So many tentpoles  :o

Didn't see The Call, but what a stupid reason to go around killing young girls.

Combining clues from the second half of the film as well as observations of Michael in the cellar, his back story is put together. Michael had romantic feelings towards his sister and wanted to marry her (it is unclear if she reciprocated such advances). However, she contracted a disease as a teenager (most likely leukemia), lost all her hair, and died. Michael has a prop head that he treats like his sister, but he needs a replacement for her hair. He's apparently been killing many women who have hair similar to his sister's without the police realizing. He takes the scalps of his victims, but so far, none of the scalps have been correct, leading to repeated killings.

Not really surprising at this point. There was no way this winter was going to measure up to last year's.

I am happy that The Call did so well. Brad Anderson has made some really good movies that made nothing at the Box Office. This is kind of a poetic justice for him that The Call made more money on its opening day than all of his earlier movies combined at the Box Office.
