kayumanggi
David Lowery's lovable 'Pete's Dragon' is one of the summer's best films. Honestly, the more we get closer, the more I think 200M is within reach.
Jayhawk the Hutt
Eh, I'm just not as confident as you guys. I hope it does at least decent, the reviews will help.

After getting Smaug and even the dragons in GoT, that looks horrible. I know this must be a kiddie version but it still looks so damn cheap! filmlover
The budget for this probably doesn't even cover the cost of catering on those Hobbit movies. 3 minutes ago, CJohn said: Doing 150M DOM is flopping to you? Lol, I know, but it's just distracting honestly. Felt the same while watching the trailer.

Early reception has been strong, marketing is solid and Pets+Dory juggernaut will be fairly exhausted by that point. Families will be ready for one last summer film for the kids. It is great that this is gonna do close to 50M OW and have some fantastic legs in August and September then.
filmlover
This doesn't strike me as a big-grosser despite good reviews. Though it should be a much easier sell than The BFG was.

Arlborn
I don't see this doing less than, say, Tarzan for example. I really don't. It looks like a great family movie.
filmlover
Would be something else if this made more than Jason Bourne did (and actually might if everything goes well at this point).

Plus, tell me more about my curse affecting Pets? Oh yeah, right, it did opened with 100M and will close over 300M.
