I think this forum should reconsider the notion that every sequel number 2 must increase because the first one was so well liked.

Every movie, every franchise has a glass ceiling.

Except for CF of course.

FF6 > ST2?

FF6 : $270 millions domestic + $730 millions OS = $1 billion

Call me crazy but its a tiny possibility...but a possibility nonetheless....

Personally it's and always was my wild card of the summer if ( and it's a big if) a movie should upset and hit the $1 billion's milestone unexpectedly.

Thor2 is the next potential upset of the year with more or less the same configuration, breaking the OS market left and right to crawl near that mark and hit $250+ millions domestic wise.

In any case, those movies should hit $850 millions ww at least.

Marketing was great. Blame North America.

Overlooking the already established Enterprise crew for a mystery, generic villain played by a relatively unknown actor was great? To be fair, the movie itself is bland, does not take any risks and the only highlights are when it just retreads old ground, so I am fine with this film underwhelming.
