OHF hardly had any competation. Plus their marketing was way better than WHD.

Competition aspect makes sense, but a movie with Tatum and Foxx in the dead of summer should have been able to match OHF.  Similar storyline sure didn't help anything, but mid 20's is pathetic.

Tatum has a large female fanbase. It is a double edged sword as they will watch him in comedies, romantic movies etc. and skip everything else. There is a reason why it took Leo years to redefine himself after Titanic and he hasn't done a romantic role since then.

just look at the style of movie and the marketing for WHD: it's totally a non-female movie!

I love how we have estimates when we only have preview/midnight numbers.

Ridiculous.

you understand that other sources are doing their estimates based on early matinee numbers and presales, right?

Based on the twitter posts being posted in this thread, it appears this is going off based off Previews/Midnights.

Nikki should be updating in about 10 minutes, We'll see.

We've had competing asteroid movies, animated bug movies, volcano movies and even competing Lambada movies.  Sometimes one will end up on the short end of the stick
