QUIT THE PESSIMISTIC CRAP: BOX OFFICE FAILURES DON'T DO ANYTHING FOR ANYONE.

Recommended Posts

If anyone can't see how a theater loses money after 4 weeks of flops than I don't know what to say anymore.Whether they sell a lot less tickets or a lot less popcorn. Someone's losing money at that theater.

Four weeks of flops, but the box office as a whole is doing great.

And that's just the Money perspective. These so called "garbage" movies took months to create. People spent a lot of there time and a lot of work into films.Movies like Pacific Rim take huge amounts of Post Production time.Movies like The Lone Ranger take huge amounts of costume and make up time.Only for the movie to flop? People's work not being watched?Whatever. I could just be ranting. It's ok to dislike movies and have your opinions on it.I just think we should cool off on wishing movies to "flop".

This is getting out of control. No one wins jack shit for a movie "flopping". This is worse than anything I've ever read on this forum.

You know, no one "wins" anything for a film succeeding, or performing modestly, or going straight to video, or being turned into a porno (ok strike that last one, EVERYONE wins in that scenario).

People are just having fun.

So a theater wouldn't get much from a movie selling out on a movies 3rd weekend? I doubt this.

You do know what breaking even is, right? It's where they don't lose money. If they sell out a theater, they make money. A lot of it.

I cannot believe the amount of whining the impending flop that is Pacific Rim has caused here. Was there this much whining when this forum labeled The Hobbit "Floppit"? The damn film made over a billion dollars and peeps here still call it a flop, for fuck's sake. I also remember quite a few here setting up shop in the Iron Man 3 thread trying to sow doom and gloom, but there wasn't a thread about that. People criticizing films isn't the end of the world.

This place encourages that sort of trolling anyway. I would have thought posters here would have thicker skin about these things.

I think it's fair game. If a movie sucks, especially if I paid $12-$15 a ticket to see it, then I have the right to criticize it.

Yes...but only after watching the movie..right...some here will start the negativity even before the release or if they support any other movie.

Seriously guys? So much pessimism on this forums."We want Lone Ranger To Flop""We want Pacific Rim To Flop""We want RIPD To Flop"This is getting out of control. No one wins jack shit for a movie "flopping". This is worse than anything I've ever read on this forum.

I thought I moved this already. Weird.... moving to The Speakeasy again.

Why are you moving to the Speakeasy...as Water Bottle already moved it to Box Office when we asked.

Keep it in Box Office, where it applies?????????????????????

Speakeasy has nothing to do with Box Office.

This thread doesn't have anything to do with Box Office, either. It's just whining about other peoples' opinions.

It's different when it comes to original films. There's so few of them and with each flop it's just gonna get worse.
