WrathOfHan
These spinoffs might make America sick of the franchise but Universal knows China will eat them up.
grey ghost
Universal wants to copy Disney's formula. Their sequels were coming out too slow so they're going to have endless spin offs from cinematic universes. Expect the Minion, Jurassic Park and Furious franchises to have spin offs and sequels every year.

Jake Gittes
Quote “You can’t keep having every movie have bigger and bigger stunts forever and ever and ever,” said Jeff Shell, chairman of Universal Filmed Entertainment Group. “Eventually you have to really focus on the story". Quote of the year.

Each film gets less intense until the final one is Vin as a cabbie driving people around at the speed limit for two hours. Jake Gittes
But it wins Best Screenplay because the story is so good.
Lordmandeep
There are bigger stunts, after Fast 6 we thought they could not and Fast 7 stunts were insane. However to me Fast 7 is like Skyfall.. It was a zeitgeist where everything Fast and Furious + Paul Walker + Overseas explosion combined into a 1.5 billion hit. The thing is I see Fast 8 doing a billion with ease but 1.5 billion nah.
BadAtGender
If your franchise is pulling a billion a pop, you're doing okay.

The Futurist
Blame the audience, not the studio/producers. The audiences are lazy, not the filmmakers.
