zackzack
If its the game changer everyone is saying I dont think 700-800+M OS is crazy either Picores. This could be the one that brings back that insane Jurassic Park like run JURASSIC PAK was a CGI pioneer, a major breakthrough in digital realism & animatronics, there is nothing like it on the screen (the CGI tentacle in ABYSS 4 years earlier is crayon-like compared to the sophistication of ILM work here). Now every superheo, disaster flicks released every summer is so loaded with uninspired CGI that the audience is pretty jaded by now and pretty sick of slick-but-fakey CGI you find in TF movies or the play-do mediocrity of cartoon Spider-Man swinging through NYC. GRAVITY is an exception and every genre filmmaker should strive towards that kind of CGI excellence: CGI you don't see. But from what I have seen GODZILLA doesn't break any ground the way JURASSIC or AVATAR (mo-cap in that movie is excellent) did.

Best to ignore him he always massively overestimates every film he likes and when occasionally right act's like his a genius lol!
zackzack
One thing I can say Warner has put out a very suspenseful trailers. Very good marketing campaign. It's just that with the recent Korea ferry incident where hundreds of young students perished, I don't know if audience will go for "fun" disaster movies. Olive
Presales in SK and HK are weak... Maybe we overestimate its potential.
John Marston
it will do fine, but I don't expect numbers to be mind boggling
Olive
Presales in SK are around 20% of TASM2 at the same point.
John Marston
if anything this is one of the safest bets of the year. It is pretty much guaranteed for 500m worldwide and its budget was 160m so it is pretty much certain to be in the green.

keysersoze123
Presales in SK and HK are weak... Maybe we overestimate its potential. Interesting. I thought asia it would do great. if that does not happen its not going to make 400M OS unless China is a monster( 100M+).
Godzilla
Any numbers so far? It's been released in a few countries today.
Fake
The reviews are pretty good, so I think it can do 600m+ WW.

The CGI in Gravity pretty much looks like every other CGI heavy film nowadays and audience don't seem to be sick of anything at all. Also I have friends that do all this CGI stuff and they tell me that the CG in Transformers is pretty much the envy of everybody. I have honestly no clue how someone could say the CG in TF is bad
