“He’s the same ilk as Oliver Stone and [Steven] Spielberg and [Martin] Scorsese. Brilliance. Savants, really, they are. He’s a savant,” says the Oscar winner (Anthony Hopkins)

A studio with vision would've dumped idiots like Bay and Mahky Mahk 2 movies ago.

It'd be pretty impressive to dump Mark Wahlberg from a franchise he wasn't even in yet.

Say what you want about Michael Bay.

The man knows how to make a fucking good looking movie.  Even if he cuts away faster than you like.  And his storytelling is...ok, not quite on the same level.

It's always kinda funny how Bay is always acclaimed by all these acclaimed persons in industry (Nolan, Cameron, Spielberg, Hopkins), but people here keep saying thay he's garbage.

Michael Bay is a good filmmaker in terms of pure entertainment and big scope. Maybe, just maybe, a movie about freaking transforming robots can only be so meaningful and profound. It is what it is: an epic, high octane action movie based on a toy line and a cartoon. What do people.expect?

I've always been saying that Bay has been over-hated (particularly on internet), but, never take these celebrities' words seriously. They have zero problem lying without blinking their eyes just because they feel it's their position to do so.

Also, Nolan never "openly said" anything about Bay. It's Pfister who said in an interview that Nolan loves Bay's movies. But there're so many fake news and twisted words on internet these days, so I personallly choose to ignore that unless there's a video of that interview to prove it. I do think Nolan and Bay share quite some similarities in their fimmaking tho.
