Most Impressive Overseas Run of 2013?

Gravity and DM2 were the best probably and maybe Frozen too.

 

Everyone expected IM3 to be massive. Biggest OS but expected (boring) run.

We expected IM3 to be big but not 800M+. it almost tripled from IM2. You could say Avengers effect but Thor 2 had a muted increase despite Avengers. 

 

Gravity did great but within range of something like LOP last year. Frozen did great but nothing out of the world compared to other animation blockbusters. CF had an average OS increase. Fast 6 had good increase but nothing out of ordinary. DM2 did good but again it aint out of this world.

Part of the reason for the increase discrepancy is simple though:The first Thor film had 3D, Iron Man 2 did not. Thor also came out when 3D was at the height of it's powers all over the place compared to the places where its appeal has dipped dramatically. As has been said before, in places like Australia the 3D share went from 65%+ down to 35% for The Dark World which offset the potential gains in admissions that it had from the first Thor film compared to Iron Man.

Ironmannnnnnnnnnnn 3333..Awesome  gross, but avengers gave this a huge bump..

Folks were looking for anything avengers after that great team up film. Iron Man 3's run was incredible.

 

 

But if IM3's run  impresses you all..Just wait until you see MOS2's and the grand daddy of them all
