That's simply not the way to re-launch a tentpole franchise.

The budget for Jack Ryan is "only" 60m. If it can make 50 dom and around 100 OS, it wont loose money, not too much at least. But yeah, is somewhat disappointing as this was gonna be a new franchise when Paramount greenlighted it.

Haha, see, this is the problem of the thoughts of Paramount, just like yours. Of course they wont lose money on this but with more carefulness and a better movie, they could have make much more than what they will be getting. It should have been representing a new tent pole franchise, not just get by.
