It looks expensive to me. I know Lucy was a freak hit but I'm sure they're aiming for at least somewhere around there.

Anywhere between Edge of Tomorrow and Lucy would be great for this.

That will flop. This screams to me "be happy that first time was a charm and leave it at that." Like Snow Shite&the Huntsman.

Huntsman just had a sequel without its lead though, that's not something that would happen here.

I don't think this gets a sequel though.

Heard some rumors from some Chinese insiders

1. It has passed censorship

2. Chinese release date might possibly be Mar.31

3. I think they meant the film may not be good enough. They still believe Apr.7 is better than Mar.31 for GITS even if Furious 8 open on Apr.14. (They said one week is long enough for this film to make money and it can earn more showtimes from Kong which open on Mar.24)

We should know soon.

I'm probably watching no matter what.

Even if it's DOA I want an autopsy report.

Damn, studios really have confidence in their movies this month screening them to critics weeks before release. (Logan, Kong, B&TB and now Ghost in the Shell)

I posted this news on Weibo. And a filmmaker retweeted me"风闻这部 completely screwed up”.(Heard the film completely screwed up)

The craftsmanship that goes into the anime, the freshness of the story - I just don't know how the live action can top that one.

But judging from the bits & pieces seen in the trailer, the story seems to take a slightly different direction.

And also, it seems that Paramount don’t believe it can make big money in China and wanna get a fair price from Chinese distributors. But none of them wanna buy the film after watching...

Or that it's based on a Japanese manga. From what I know, China and Japan aren't exactly BFFs.

Since when Chinese distributors care about the movie quality? Resident Evil is going to make over $150 million.

Of course they do. Distributor expected $65-75m total for RE6.

We will see what’s going on about GITS.
