Yep, it's the case of getting there first (by there I mean widest audience). It's like so many sci fi movies borrowed from Princess of Mars but when John carter (aka Princess of Mars) rolled in, it looked positively derivative.

Looks good. Still they are showing a lot of action and I am hoping its more complex than the trailer appears.

It still does little for me. And i love me some cyberpunk. Johansson is (partially) to blame, not a fan. But everything about it looks kinda meh...

Johansson  looks, act and generally "feels" awlful for this movie. Damn shame that besides her the rest looks good.

It looks pretty good to me and like something worth seeing on a big screen but, as someone who hasn't seen the anime, I hope there's a bit more to the story than what was shown.

she doesnt know if she has human brain. she often question her reality. that's the whole point of motoko kusanagi in anime. this on other hand...

I liked teasers much better to be honest. This tells the whole story in an exposition and SFX beyond teaser stuff is been there done that. 

 

But should be at least a decent movie and do Lucy numbers.

 

I don't find Scarlett's acting monotone at all. I think she's quite heartbreaking here. you can feel vulnerability which definitely isn't a robot thing (since she isn't a robot but a human brain in a robot body).

If you watched the anime and movie anime version, she's pretty much spot on on being Major.

The Major has never been a lively and bubbly character. She has always been monotone and stoic.

 

You'd be hard pressed to find any stills of her cheesing from the anime or manga.
