Yes they will. You don’t get a 135-150m estimated opening in pre-tracking otherwise.

There absolutely is anticipation for the story too. If it was just visuals a whole lotta films should’ve made more then they did. The genius of Cameron movies is the easily accessible story and characters. That leads some like presuming yourself included to view it as dumbing it down when in reality it’s just making a film all people can enjoy.

In terms of IMAX ticket sales in my immediate area Way of Water has already surpassed the number of tickets sold 15 days out versus Black Panther at 10 days with 4 less showings over the 4-days (Thurs-Sunday).

there's another interview where Sam is asked to describe Avatar 2 after seeing it, and he said "you don't watch it, you experience it". As Jim has said many time's he's going to capture exactly what people loved about the first movie, but this time have a richer story which is more character driven.

Please expect massive legs, and never ever say we couldn't have known audiences will have responded to Avatar 2 like they did with the first.
