 So I dont see the HV  numbers, or the excitement your talking about for Avengers to be the first comic films to reach

1.8B..  And I do agree that Avengers has some of the quadrants, but not enough of the 50-80 something crowd.

 

And thats what you need for 1.8B -3B+ WW potential..  I give Avengers 20% chance for 1.7B.

 

Im leaning towards what Ethan said that it may get to 950-1B OS, but its highly unlikely to go much over 1BOS.

 Much more likely to reach 890-950M OS max.

 

 Then Domestically Avengers could be as low as 500M. and as High as 620M. Your 1.8B WW looks too high my friend.

 But we will see.

My friend you have to face facts,, Avengers 2 is not a spirtual connection type film. You go you watch maybe one and twice and your done with it.. Avatar 2 is the type of film that hits people deep and you really get wrapped around the characters and the things they face. Not to mention the rewatchability factor will far surpass Avengers and SWS.

 

 Im simply not a marvel loonie Neo.. I know history shows my friend no comic film has repeated the same business as their breakout predecessor.. And if SM2 or TDK3 couldnt do it,, very unlikely Avengers2 is going to make a far bigger impact than Avengers 1.

 

HV sales also dont point to any breakout BO of 1.8B your talking about. Im sorry.. IM3 with all that os promotion shows Avengers 2 max OS will be 850-1B OS(Likely 900+MO OS)

Spiritual doesn't make money in the movies. Rewatchability, really? Avengers has replay value as I would imagine VII will. I know you are an Avatar loonie. TDKR had problems and TDK had other factors, which we won't get into. Your mistake you speak as AOU has already come out. First off I said plenty of times if it gets a 225M+ OW 623M is going down take it to the bank. Also the competition as of now (looks of it) is weaker than TA had, so the chances of it doing less aren't good. Seems you missed CF that made more than THG. And... But saying that AOU will drop DOM and make 850M OS just to prove that Avatar 2 is bigger is just not using common sense. Its obvious Avatar 2 will win, but his way of thinking is way of base. BTW don't remember Kal's predict, but there was a predict around 750M.

Er no he wasnt. I was around then and I was in a club on BOM and WOKJ which predicted Avatar to surpass Titanic. Kal was the most irritating member of that club but he was not alone.

I don't know about Avatar versus A2. Clearly, A1 is a beloved film, and its sequel will open beyond our wildest expectations. All I know is that for me, the Avatar brand will always be the winner, in my heart and my mind.
