Since Ferngully is a 20th Century Fox release, they would sue the man that earned them billions of bucks with a remake. Sounds legit.

I wouldn`t have heard of frenegully had it not been for Avatar. Still have no desire to read it.

 

I guess it`s to Avatar what`s Battle Royale to THG. THG haters always pull that one out of a file drawer.

I love that no one pointed out Luc Besson's Arthur and The Minimoys is also a Fergully rip of even more so than Avatar because Arthur's main protagonists like Ferngully are also little elves of a giant rainforest with a human little boy that becomes a little elf helping the elf girl to save the rainforest from baddies. Arthur the little boy that becomes a elf is Zak and Selenia the elf princess is Krysta, it's so obvious.

 

(Besson has a reputation of being a notable plagiarist, see 5th element or Joan Of Arc when Kathryn Bigelow menaced to sue him for alledgedly stealing her script).
