Actually, the title changed made it less clear. It said 'Christian Bale quits or does he?' which implies he is still in talks, which isn't the case.

According to Deadline, nothing was ever finalized with any actor and THR/etc have been jumping the gun with *all* their reports. They're saying, in fact, no actor has been in serious talk negotiations yet.

But according to basically every other trade, there were already serious talks, and Deadline post Nikki has basically turned into the 'Let's snark about other trade publications' site.

Movies in turnaround do get picked up sometimes, Sony picked up Eat Pray Love from Paramount when it was in turnaround and Oblivion which was developed at Disney ended up at Universal. I think Universal is probably the likely studio to pick it up.

Disney also had Cowboy Ninja Viking but drop it because it was too edgy for their image and then Universal picked up that project and collider reports that Chris Pratt will star in that film. So yeah Universal may well pick this film up as well

Universal Pictures has picked up the Steve Jobs biopic less than a week after it was dropped by Sony, an individual with knowledge of the deal told TheWrap.

The Danny Boyle-directed biopic about the Apple co-founder was put into turnaround by Sony on Wednesday, but now has a new home.

Aaron Sorkin is set to write the script, with Michael Fassbender attached to star in the film that is based on the authorized biography by Walter Isaacson, titled “Steve Jobs.” Scott Rudin, Mark Gordon and Guymon Casady are set to produce the film.
