Thanks to a strong showing in China, THE DARK KNIGHT RISES will pass $1 billion worldwide this weekend.

The international number is a rough estimate because accurate figures from China won't come in until Tuesday morning. Warner Bros. estimates thatThe Dark Knight Rises took in $28.5 million from nearly 4,100 screens in China. In Italy, the action flick grabbed $8.8 million from 836 screens.

It is getting #7 for sure. If not for the shooting in US and shit scheduling in China, it might even have been #5.

It might have beaten TF3 in gross too if only the exchange rates were same as 2011. The poor exchange rates cost TDKR at least 40M. maybe more.

That's about $4.9m/$8.7m. TDK opened (25-27 July) with $3.1m/$5.0m. That's a great increase, considering Euro was a 24% higher in July 2008 than now.
