We have 3 theaters and the Pixar re-releases were only playing at 1 :(

They seem to have realized better and 2/3 are at least getting Phantom Menace next week.

also Iger is going to speak at....Canva Con or whatever they call it. Is that why every decent-looking asset is behind the premium paywall? They have to pay him to speak?

DTC is profitable and Disney+ US and Canada subs are way up to 54m, Hulu also topped 50m subs. Disney+ lost some core subs internationally due to price hikes though so not all rainbows. The unit that houses theatrical (Content Sales and Licensing) lost money somehow which is almost impressive considering there was no major releases and Disney sold more movies and shows to third parties in the first part of the year. Linear networks continue to collapse although ESPN (which I didn't include in the screenshots) is a bright spot managing to increase revenue albeit only slightly.

Revenue just a bit under expectations, lack of theatrical numbers and linear networks saw a 22% drop in operating income.

Time to sell these to private equity.

No big announcement as of yet, everyone thought Disney moving their earning to premarket/am meant a big something was going to happen (and it still could happen as the earnings call doesn't start for another 20 minutes.)

ESPN tile on Disney+ by years end. Similar to the Hulu tile works.

edit: 17 of the top 20 titles watched on streaming came from linear networks (Shogun for example)

Also no big announcement from Bob Iger, likely will disappoint the market.

Trend the last couple years has been the big consumer interest announcements in the Q1 call

They got D23 coming up in three months, I imagine they're saving major stuff for that

Disney stock down 10% today, which is really rough.

Wall Street just saw Deadline’s Biggest Bombs of 2023 report which 4 of 5 films on it were Disney.

The Hulu integration must be going amazingly if they're already going to add ESPN too. My guess is the future "Disney Bundle" is gonna be a combined Disney+ and whatever that joint sports streamer winds up being called
