Honestly I just don't think King Kong the monster is that unique. He's just a giant ape. The 1933 and 2005 movies were great because of their stories, not Kong himself. And this movie doesn't look like it'll have a good story.

And I'm saying this as a huge monster movie fan.

I say this not just with Kong, but I feel like there are a few March releases that could very well be really good movies that won't make much money domestically and in some cases won't make money period. Which is a shame in my opinion. That doesnt take away from the quality of the movie(s) obviously. I do look forward to seeing this though, but I don't know if I'll be able to see it OW.

The Beauty and the Beast embargo also drops March 2.  That might take away some press for this film.

140m would be a pretty big win for this movie I believe specially if it does as well as I'm expecting it to do OS for a total of close to 500m WW.

Absolutely. Beauty and the Beast is everywhere, so all eyes are on that movie, but I'm loving the trailers for just about every movie released in March. There's just a lot of awesomeness out there. Hopefully, we'll see record movie watching during Spring Break period.

I didn't care for the last three Legendary movies I've seen, Krampus, Warcraft, and The Great Wall. Hopefully I'll like this one, but I kinda doubt it. I'm super excited for Pacific Rim 2 however, they chose a good directorial replacement.

I mean... It's Twitter index exploded today and the Facebook likes went up dramatically today. Obviously this trailer had to have some kind of positive impact.
