elcaballero
I wouldn't have expected it to open remotely that high. Paramount may recoup the redesign costs opening weekend.

WittyUsername
I don’t know why they’re bothering with making an original song for this movie. Just play Running in the 90s over the credits and call it a day.

MrGlass2
Detective Pikachu did amazing at the box office, but could Sonic be the film that breaks the video game movie curse at the Oscars?
Eric the Clown
For the record, that still doesn't top Shell Shocked
Movies4Life
Here’s the song in 1080p HD on YouTube: Gotta say I think it’s a cool song.

JGAR4LIFE
I’m rooting hard for this film. Hopefully it manages to do enough to generate sequels.

I don’t know if there will be sequels, but if there is one, the obvious course of action would be to bring in Tails, Knuckles and Metal Sonic.
Morieris
The full "fluffy Sonic" exclusive clip is further proof that @rejectedjokes is the perfect voice of Sonic. What's that? #SonicMovie tickets are on sale? JB33
Yeah, admittedly tracking is actually looking pretty good. I had this movie pegged to bomb. We'll see how it shakes out. Maybe this will simply hit the spot for a lot of folks, no matter how it looks to me personally.
SpiderByte
The clip is very good, but it kinda solidified my only real fear about the redesign: since the new design is significantly shorter than the original, Marsdens eyeline is very clearly not looking at where Sonic should actually be in the shot. So he just winds up looking about a foot higher than where he's supposed to be. Edited January 25, 2020 by SpiderByte

Movies4Life
Interesting article from Forbes on how Sonic being PG-rated could help it at the box office while dealing with R-rated fare like Birds of Prey and PG-13 horror date like Fantasy Island: https://www.forbes.com/sites/scottmendelson/2020/01/24/box-office-sonic-the-hedgehog-will-stand-out-amid-r-rated-blockbusters/#54e0e3232e31
