Wouldn't put too much thought into this but the critics choice score is out with 40/100 and 0 stars. I doubt it stays so low and I doubt it gets worse reviews than Cats and Dolittle (both have a higher critic choice score) but if it stays below 70/100 next week, I doubt reviews go over 60% on RT.

Nobody should be surprised really. This really didn't look like something that will be a hit with critics. It looks incredibly juvenile. 

 

Jury's still out on the box office though. It's tracking pretty well.

There was a review on reddit too and yeah, it didn't sound too good. On the good side of things, I've heard that Jim Carrey is a great Dr Eggman in this and that it has a lot of fan service (except the Sonic theme isn't used for some reason) so I think it will be crowdpleasing enough to hold well.

Jim Carrey will be a massive selling point for this, I'm sure.

It looks like one of those late 2000s/early 2010s CGI/Live Action reboots. Wasn’t expecting great reviews.

Regardless of reviews, this seems like it’ll make a decent amount at the box office. And I’m interested in watching it regardless of what side of the quality coin it ends up on.

Critics choice score went down to 35. @grim22 you know how many critics have rated it on the site because that looks abnormally low? Like, to me it makes sense if only 2 people rated it and one gave it a 30 and another gave it a 40.

Yeah, honestly...who, even after the redesign, expected this to be the pinnacle of VG movies
