BobbyJohn
It's about Angelina and Brad making one of the lowest grossing movies of their careers. Imagine that, an indie drama ain't a summer popcron blockbuster
rockNrollaDIM
I like the featurette. And I don't care if it ends up sucking. Just happy to see Angelina acting again.

TStechnij
Got the trailer at Steve Jobs. Looks hilarious. This might not turn out to be good, but I thought the trailer was really well constructed and it makes the movie look great. Why does it get so much hate? Blankments
I mean if it's satire... It's just ridiculously escalating without telling you shit about what the movie's about. Sometimes that works (Joy Teaser for one), but it definitely feels comedic near the end
TStechnij
I could see that, I guess. It is one of my favorite trailers of the year. I think Angie and Brad look great and it really seems like the first time Jolie has showed off her directing prowess. There is some really gorgeous stuff in there. 4815162342
Got the trailer at Steve Jobs. Looks like someone wanted to make a powerhouse super serious ACT-A-THON version of Before Midnight and it turned out to be a hammy parody of it.
filmlover
BOM has changed this from a wide release to a limited one on November 13. Unless there are expansion that haven't been announced...
dudalb
Trailer left me thinking What the hell is the film about? Starts out like the film is a artsy love story, but then the trailer switches to selling it as a suspense thriller.

rockNrollaDIM
I guess this screened for HFPA members recently. Not much out there but a couple of twitter reactions make it sound... Interesting? Maybe not the trainwreck you're all hoping for? Guess we'll know for sure next week. @nepalesruben: By the Sea is #AngelinaJolie's ode to 70s European cinema & she herself evokes Sophia Loren; #BradPitt at his best. @nepalesruben 1h1 hour agoIn #ByTheSea, #AngelinaJolie pays homage to 70s European films so it's deliberately languid, sometimes erotic. mariaestevez @mariateam 5h5 hours ago - I watched today #BytheSea very curious about what film critics have to say. Cochofles
I am certainly rooting for Angie. The trailer looks interesting to me (musical choice is quite solid and atypical), and I appreciate the fact that she basically tells nothing about what the film is about. Sure, I can see how annoying that could be, but I'd rather have this than a trailer that is a condensed version of the entire movie. After the commercially successful but artistically underwhelming Unbroken, I'd love if this film were a critics' darling (even if turned out to be a box office flop). filmlover
Apparently this is only set to open in three cities and was never intended to be a wide release. Either this is terrible or simply unsellable, but it's all so fascinating in a way. http://deadline.com/2015/10/by-the-sea-release-angelina-jolie-brad-pitt-marketing-strategy-trailer-1201594176/
moviesRus
Yeah, sadly I think this is clearly Serena 2.0. Despite the big stars, it's probably very not audience friendly and also not good.
