Disappointing number for Sex Tape. There is no reason why a movie with this cast and a raunchy premise shouldn't have broken out in a weak summer like this.

 

Good expansion for Boyhood. $27-28,000 PTA from 33 theaters in its second weekend is impressive.

22 Jump Street is having some of the best legs of the summer. Nothing has slowed it down, not even another Sony R-rated comedy. 

 

It makes sense for Planes: Fire & Rescue as Planes: Fire & Rescue to pull in those numbers but I'm actually blown away by how families have abandoned the multiplex this season.

HTTYD2 has better multiplier than 22JS...

But Dragon didn't have a good OW. It doesn't belong next to 22JS and Maleficent, the two success stories of this summer.

With Lord and Miller back, I honestly wasn't surprised... at all.

How is that any different compare to last summer? We had the Heat and the Hangover 3 at this point last year. We're the Millers was released in August.

 

What this summer's missing is the animation that actually breaks out.

Actually Hangover 3 was a disappointment DOM. It took a huge dive from the second movie.
