Cmasterclay
Absolutely brilliant book, will be tough to adapt. Very internalized, and very long.

SLAM!
I don't get how some people think Ansel isn't that good of an actor. His performances for the most part are fine. Just because an actor breaks out with Young Adult films doesn't mean they become bad. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are managing to break themselves away from the Twilight saga excellently. Bases on the excellent performance Elgort gave in Baby Driver, I am in full support of him starring in a film like this. I believe he can pull it off.

I can and it has nothing to do with of the YA films. Like you said, I don't hold it against people like Kristen Stewart or Jennifer Lawrence or Ansel either. I just haven't seen a good/great performance from him, in my opinion of course and I did see Baby Driver. Not saying his is the worst thing on the planet or anything, but I don't think he's all that good either.

Hatebox
This book starts brilliantly then falls to pieces. By the final hundred pages I was embarrassed on Tartt's behalf. Can't imagine why it would make a good movie, but at least a sterner editor will streamline the narrative a bit.
kayumanggi
Maybe someone can edit the title to include the release date. OCTOBER 11, 2019.
The Panda
I first read this title as The Goldfish, now that I see it's the Goldfinch I am much less intrigued.
