Harpospoke
If you have 300 IMAX theaters charging $19.00 for their tickets, is it not going to increase the theater average? I don't care that much about it buddy. It's a non issue. Both are doing well. Doesn't matter to me who is on top. Also nice to hear that people are volunteering to pay more to see GotG because they think it's worth it. baumer
You guys can laugh all you want but this failure by the Expendables is all about the leak. It might have dropped domestically but not at the rate that it has. This was going to be a 250-300 million dollar grosser WW.

baumer
where do you think this will end WW now? I honestly have no idea. But it seems to be dropping by about 50% from Ex2 so unless China bucks the trend, it will probably fall by that much. So 150-160 mill is my guess. kitik
You guys can laugh all you want but this failure by the Expendables is all about the leak. I'm not so sure about that. I think fans have caught on to the Expendables by now, and realize it's not as great on screen as we imagine it to be in our heads. Too many stars, and not enough screen time for the ones we actually care about.

A drop from the last one I can accept, but not by this much.

That's what I meant - though I was exaggerating for comedic effect - by it being such an epic fail. Oogieloves and the like were always going to die, not this. I don't think I've ever seen a film fall so flat on its face because of extremely rare circumstances (even in this digital age very few summer blockbusters leak weeks ahead of time). Walt Disney
I wonder if Expendabelles (the female version) will still happen. Unless they sign Jolie, Bullock, and Johansson to star in it, they need to keep the budget under 10M if they want that movie to happen successfully. They don't need those women. They have Rousey . I think there is a group of people out there that do not like Mel Gibson to succeed in any movie so they did this to sabotage Mel. I remember when they were making Hangover 3 or 2, I think. Someone mentioned Mel and I remembered some people refused to work with him. So who knows, what other movies that you can think of, that leak a good digital copy like this? Just a thought.
