Jason Bourne | 7.29.2016 | One week IMAX release on August 26 thanks to Ben Hur flopping

I have read an Spanish review. It says it is better than Legacy, but it is not the best of the series. It is qualified as a worthy sequel, with great action scenes (two of them seem really impressive) and both Greengrass and Damon as good as they used to. The main issue seems to be that the film does not risk and the series can become repetitive. It seems more of the same than the 3 first parts. The score is a 7/10.

Not surprised, critics only have long, lasting hard-ons when they think a movie has substance or subtext.

One thing to keep in mind, is that Bourne's core fans and audience is a bit older, so it might not make a splash in social circles dominated by teens and young adults.

Daniel, it might have been broader viability issues. They could see franchise fare was kind of the big game in town, and they wanted to be in on it.

Should have named it "Bourne Again." That would have increased the OW box office by 20 million. Bring in that religious movie crowd.

I guess the goodwill from the previous matt damon / greengrass Bourne movies might prevent this from getting completely thrashed by critics with an RT score below 50% or so.

Seems like more of a "Sure, why not"  deal here than cashing a paycheck. Like, they did it because they weren't real passionate about saying no anymore.

So everything has somewhat disappointed critically this summer except for Civil War Dory & Star Trek Beyond.
