Supporting mah man Liam today. It's been a month and a half since I went to the theaters

Does this mean you didn't went to see TMNT last weekend in IMAX just to see Interstellar's trailer? Nolan will be so disappointed when he finds about it.

No Good Deed falls 66% on its 2nd Friday.  Thank you again to Baumer for reminding all of us that reviews do not matter (*sarcasm*).

They don't.

You're like a stalker.   :P

really a big second weekend drop was expected

Don't try to explain things to him.  He's made up his mind long ago about what SHOULD do well and what shouldn't.  His last post proves my point but he's too myopic to understand that.

What mattered here is that WOM from the people that saw it was awful.

Which correlates to the bad reviews, bad reviews can make an impact on opening weekend (although they aren't the sole factor to success or failure obviously) and they can also serve as an indicator to how the movie will end up being received by audiences.

Thus, they matter.

The opening weekend was big. Thus reviews were useless.

Everything matters, critic reviews ( I think Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic are popular sites), buddy s reviews, trailers, posters, casting, director, gf reviews, IMDB grades, talk show interviews, subject matter and premise of the movie, genre etcPeople will go see movies for all of these reasons, sometimes just one, sometimes it s a combination of one of these factors.Plus it depends on the style of the movie, big franchise blockbusters are obviously more critic proof than indies, adult dramas or AMPAS season movies.
