I don't give a shit about Ben Affleck not coming back partly because he is a disaster right now (hopefully he gets his life in order) but I still want Henry to get a chance to play a Superman with a personality that doesn't have CGI mouth. JL Superman, personality wise was a step in the right direction. I still don't have much hope of course but a girl can dream until the role is officially recast.

I wonder how things got so screwed between Henry and WB? Was it really his side making huge demands(I believe this was more likely)Or did WB just not want to make Superman movies for the next little while.

My guess is he wanted more money and creative control. Worst case scenario would be him wanting Snyder back as a director. His manager is The Rock's manager and she is probably hard to deal with as well. Henry Cavill is a solid actor but he needs to face the facts. He isn't a box office draw, he doesn't deserve A list money and his bigger role outside of Superman was MI:Fallout and his character is dead already. If that Netflix series flops, he's going to lose even more leverage.

Ya this is kinda how I saw it as well, and as much as I love Henry I completely agree with you.

The fact is that WB, not Cavill, have been mishandling Superman for over a decade. If we aren't getting another one with him, I'm inclined to believe that its WB's fault. They turned his sequel into a damn horrible Batman movie because they blame everybody but the lousy director and their own dark n gritty edict for the new Superman not getting popular. I wouldn't blame him if he were holding out for more creative control. You can read between the lines, Cavill clearly didn't like what Snyder did with the character. There is no way on earth that he wanted Snyder back even if he is fond of him personally. He's not like Ray Fisher.

What you’re saying makes sense but they did a huge reshoot on JL to change Superman to what seemed like what they wanted him to be for future movies(cause they were obviously trying to move away from Snyder’s vision). That’s what seems so odd to me about a deal not happening, and unfortunately Henry isn’t a big enough star to demand any kind of creative control.

As we’ve seen with Batman/Superman over the years, the character is bigger then any actor, And with Aquamans success they now see they can use their lower teir characters and make good money if they produce good movies.

I don’t disagree that WB obviously has some fault in this as well though. Hopefully things can work out and we can get another Superman movie sooner rather then later.

What we've seen from Snyder's Superman in Justice League so far hasn't been terrible. The ring scene at the farm, suiting up in the scout ship and meeting Alfred were all good scenes. From what I've seen Snyder's Supermam was supposed to end hopeful after Justice League.
