I think they're going with the original Authority for this (the one the Elite are parodies of) and saving the version with Apollo and Midnighter for the actual Authority movie.

He is of course a fantastic choice and it seems they have nailed all 3 main roles. No doubt Jacob Elordi would have been a MUCH trendier choice for Superman now that he has been well received and headlined 2 critical darlings.

 

This is going to be very interesting. There is no traditional star power yet in the form of huge salaried name actors, but the consensus on the internet (which of course carries over into media sentiment) is that all 3 main actors cast thus far are perfect for their roles, and that is its own type of modern star power. As we are seeing this weekend, Joaquin Phoenix alone is not a draft at all, but put him in a main role that the artistic community says he is perfect for, and he becomes must see.

Fantastic Four was initially slated for next November, so I imagine it got moved to the main section before all the delays.

Excellent casting decision. And Nicholas Hoult being turned down for prior DC heroes almost makes him perfect for the role considering that inadequacy is one of Lex Luthor's main motivations.

Not a bad choice at all, but I hope he isn't even close to being the main villain in this movie, I wanna see other superman villains explored more.

I usually prefer Lex to be a bit older than Superman so I was hoping Alexander Skarsgard would nab the role. That said Nicholas Hoult is never a bad choice so I’m looking forward to his interpretation.

We knew Skyler Gisondo was gonna get the part since before the SAG strike, so this announcement is more of a formality at this point.
