baumer
Your priorities are out of whack. Ouija before Wick? Then again, I suppose most people's priorities are out of whack if they let this happen. Buy a ticket to Wick and sneak into Ouija. No. My priorities are to see both. Today I go alone to see a horror film about a subject that looks incredibly creepy to me. Plus it's done by Brad Fuller, who I will see no matter what he puts out. Class guy. John Wick I am going with buddies to see in IMAX on Tuesday. So my priorities are fine.

alisson23
You do realize that like, none of the horror movies released this year have been flops, right? John Wick coming in first would be a fantastic story. Look Again The Quiet Ones $8.5M Oculus $27.6M Devil's Due $15.8M Deliver Us From Evil $30M As Above/So Below 21M... Do we need compare how much horror movies did this year in BO with what action movies did?
CJohn
Equalizer and Maze Runner are in strong need of some Puerto Rico fuckery.
DAJK
I'm actually debating wether or not to see John Wick on Tuesday... From what I've heard, it's probably worth the 5 bucks. The Judge seems to be hanging in there decently. 40M will probably happen, which would be pretty good for a 13M debut. I'm also curious as to when (if) the Equalizer passes Maze Runner's total. It seems to be creeping up on it, but I'm not sure how long it will take to pass it. They're both making money still, and I hope they can both cross 100M, especially Maze Runner. Where has the Boxtrolls gone? And Dracula is holding better than I thought this weekend, what with Ouija opening.
Incarnadine
Finally, a great weekend for seeing movies. I saw John Wick last night, and it was excellent with some really good unexpected humor in spots. Today it's Birdman on deck. Thankfully we have 1 of the 50 theaters showing it this week, although I have to go a bit further than normal since it's showing at a theater outside my usual range. After that it will be St. Vincent, either this evening or tomorrow. It has been a long time since there has been 3 movies open the same weekend that I really want to see. alisson23
Okay, so look at those numbers again and tell me which ones were flops. Remember there are the marketing and releases costs. Do 15M in a 5M budget doesn't mean it gave profit. PS: Distribuitor only get about 50% of BO.

lab276
Okay, so look at those numbers again and tell me which ones were flops. Clearly, "flop" is used interchangeably with "could've made more".
filmlover
I would consider a movie that was released in over 2,000+ theaters and made less than $15M in total to be a flop, regardless of budget.

So you would consider a movie that cost less than $1m to make, was released into 2,000 theaters and made only $14m a flop? Sounds legit.
