Ah so the film may not end up quite the success many expected so now the general consensus is "anyone who expected a big gross for this kind of film is stupid" is it?

Dat Nolanite effect.

I will point out that a lot of people were saying that estimates were aiming way too high long before this point.

It's quite amazing how all those posters who are not here every day, knew that Interstellar would open to less than 60 mill and even more amazing how they all here to tell everyone how they can't believe anyone would think that it would.  After all, all of us are simple peons compared to their box office acumen.

I've been saying all along it was not going to be able to appeal to the general audience like the fanboys here were wanting. Telemachos had a very reasonable club (under Batman Begins) and a bunch of people scoffed at it like he was crazy. Under Prometheus is on the table IMHO.

Yes there is more historical revisionism among nolanites currently then at a Civil War reenactment

I don't know how many of you were around 1969, when space dramas really produced remarkable attendance figures worldwide. And that was in BW, no 3D, with a lot of dry commentary by so called experts (the showings lasted for 6 hours and more). Today not that many are interested to listen endlessly to science speculations of what might be true (but probably is not).

I was prejudiced (because of overload from here) against Inception, but ended up loving it (mainly because of the lead actors and a good story). The trailers for Interstellar did not convince GA to go and see it presently, maybe they will give it chance later and like it?

I'm certainly not claiming to be some kind of prophet. I looked at the evidence presented by other people and drew a conclusion.  There are others who drew that conclusion as well - check Tele's club for evidence of that.

There probably are a fair number of people jumping on now that it seems like a sure thing though :(

"The best films are the films that under perform"

"The best films are the films that under perform"

"The best films are the films that under perform"

Well loosely based on a famous quote from TDK

That you either underperform and become a classic, or you overperform and become overrated.
