mahnamahna
From the sound of things it just repeats the same jokes, so probably not. Even if it's not that good, big comedies tend to have 2.5x at the worst. So a $35 million OW would mean $87.5 million DOM at the worst. Best case is probably $105-110 million DOM. Considering the budget, Universal would have to be satisfied with that.
Sal
I'm thinking both BH6 and D&D will have low to mid 30s and IS will be somewhere in the 27-28m range. Then again, IS may get a boost from the people who watched D&D and found it too dumb and wanted to watch something smart in an effort to restore some brain cells.

Dunno, never saw evidence of that happening on any of the Transformers OWs.

Melvin Frohike
Actually I think I'm wrong. BH6 might have some difficulty making much more than $30 million over the weekend. I didn't realize it's weekdays crashed so hard after VD. If people would stop looking at the drop from a holiday, they'd realize that Big Hero 6 has been doing fine on the weekdays for an animated feature released in early November. I'm thinking both BH6 and D&D will have low to mid 30s Just realize that you are predicting a big drop in comparison to other major animated features that were released in early November, historically--this includes movies that ended up with middling OW multipliers. If Big Hero 6 performs as you expect, then it may very well be in trouble of underperforming overall (it would still be too soon to jump to conclusions, but it would be a very bad sign nevertheless). miketheavenger
I think 30m is a good and expected opening for D&DT. IMO it's still quite popular among audiences.

baumer
Anyone with a brain knows BH6 is taking the weekend again. Posts like this are the stuff that is frowned upon here. First of all, it's rude, second of all, there are no absolutes in box office and only those with half a brain make statements like this.

RyneOh1040
40 million (which is obviously going to fluctuate at this point) would be almost best case scenario for this. Pretty huge.
