Ready Player One | March 29, 2018 | Spielberg directing | No untagged spoilers allowed

WB slotting lots of movies today. No threads can be made till we have more details, or someone attached to the project. As a reminder,we need 2 of 3 things to start a thread

- Release date

- Concept/plot/title

- Talent attached

i have never been less interested in a spielberg project.

Agreed. An 80s nostalgia fest isn't what I want to see from him. He's already made the movies that created the nostalgia. This feels much more like something JJ Abrams would direct.

This one is either San Andreas 2 or Rampage.

Smart idea to move this. I like the new release date.

Ready Player One is getting the Easter release slot. Can be big over the holiday/spring break combo. Flash will also get IMAX for 2 weeks now, smart scheduling in the end. The "WB event film" will probably also get IMAX for 2 weeks.

Yeah, WB will rule Spring of 2018! Great scheduling on their part.

As Baumer often says, having the Internetz at the times of the making of Jaws would have been hilarious.

Same for Titanic.

True. I do remember reading numerous articles during Titanic's production about the problems. The pushed back release date from July to December was a particular big deal.

Cameron went so over budget he gave up his salary and points, even after it was initially released it was still viewed as a bomb because of it's estimated $200 million budget and lowish OW for a blockbuster. It took a couple of months for the kind of monster it was to sink in.

It was pretty notable after New Year's weekend how well it was holding. It became a phenom very quickly.
