@The Futurist, you've made it clear that this movie isn't for you, so why don't you just take your voice of reason back to the Independence Day thread.

I send some mixed signals sometimes I won't deny.

Any Amy Adams' Joint is mandatory and it doesn't take the IQ of a smurf to see that Villeneuve is a talented Mofo.

Have you guys seen Incendies ?

It s batshit insane and great.

Teaser clip apparently aired on the TODAY show, trailer on the 16th

Well shit, looks like they aired an actual teaser trailer....
Description from AwardsWatch

It was about a minute. Here's a rough description I did from watching it a few times -
It was a brief teaser. The footage opened with Amy Adams playing with a child with VO "There are days that define your story beyond your life, like the day they arrived".
It then cuts to her watching military jets flying overhead as she gets out of her car.
Cut to night as a colonel tells her to pack her bags.
Then flying out in a helicopter with Jeremy Renner "Language is the first weapon drawn in a conflict." Adams replies "That's quite a greeting." Renner - "Yeah, well you wrote it." Forest Whitaker is with them as well talking about translations "You are on the top, everyone listening close to translations."
Military V.O - "Priority 1 - What do they want, where are they from."
Cut a wide shot of the alien ship and the ships approaching it. Cut to Adams and Renner leaving the helicopter.
As Adams is suiting up V.O - "Not everyone is wired for what you're about to do" Renner asks "So what do they look like" in V.O as they approach. A reply "You'll see soon enough" as they are lifted in.
Forest Whitaker in V.O "Every 18 hours, door opens up" as a hand runs against the wall of the ship. "That's when we go in" - Whitaker continues as it cuts to Adams.
Cut to them being lifted up as "it's time" is said and they float up.
They arrive at the entrance. Adams asks "What now ?" Whitaker "They arrive" A noise is heard as it cuts to Renner and then Adams face as it ends there.
The title card appears - Arrival
Full trailer debuts - 08.16
In theaters 11.11
