Lots of VFX companies worked on this film so it won't probably your standard basic sci-fi film who thinks it is too clever to show you spectacle and deliver some visual goods.

If there are some original ideas or concepts, could be a VFX contender.

I'm excited for this movie simply because of the director.  Sicario was great and I'd love to see that grit applied to sci-fi

If this is another winner, I may indeed just have to get hyped for Blade Runner 2. Villenueve is probably #2 in the pecking order of directors whose movies I'll check out without hesitation right now.

If BR 2 and this are great, then Villenueve will be 5/5 within 4 years. That's insane.
