Just woke up.

Blah blah blah JW is crumbling blah blah blah. Lol

This is arguably the best time to be a BO fan. It's always historical to watch the OW record go down by an unexpected beast, it's another to have a huge $90M OW film open right after it and have the beast continue its reign for four weekends. We are spoiled to be BO fans right now, plain and simple. The only thing that would make this month more legendary is if Minions somehow beat the animated OW record and knocked Shrek the Third off the throne.

Personally though, I'm not expecting that to happen, and nobody should. We don't want disappointment to ruin an incredible month of BO.

Looks like Variety is counting the five-day instead of three: http://variety.com/2015/film/news/box-office-inside-out-terminator-magic-mike-1201534080/

...does this technicality complicate the MBFGW record? It's purely just the three-day, right?

Not sure why you would count five-day. Four-day maybe because Thursday was kind of like a Friday to many people, but I wouldn't count Wednesday as part of the "weekend."
