Lol no Rouge Nation might do $700M WW. It's not going to struggle like Mad Max.

I was talking DOM darling. ;)

I know Mission Impossible is a huge brand OS and a very big China number is likely.

Agree.

The disadvantage, Mad Max had..was that it was R-rated. So that didn't get the younger audience.

This one is PG-13. It will have more audience, checking it out on repeat-business.

Then again, MI: 5 has the disadvantage that it's not in 3D. With 3D it would've performed better although 3D isn't really a big thing anymore in the US.

If you are blessed to be in the position to be a model or actress (and it is a blessing to be born with looks like that), the least you can do is be pleasant in interview situations. I don't care how stupid you think the questions are or how many times you've been asked the same thing over and over. Suck it up, smile, and cash your million dollar checks

I do not know her also haven't seen / read the interview...

But that is IMHO absolute wrong. Only bcs you chose a certain profession no one can demand to endure, what more and more seems to get the new normal: obstrusive fans, annoying and often even stupid questions in interviews, long lense pics,....

Only bcs mobiles... allowed websites like Just Jared, Facebook,... to rise doesn't mean it's acceptable behavior to give away unallowed taken pictures and so on, no matter if it is about a 'promi' or a co-pupil or... either.

Wtf is up with these shitty Friday increases? Are these normal? Im on my phone so cant really check.

I'm guessing holdovers lost a lot of screens to MI5 leading to the awful increases. They weren't exactly making big bucks anyway, so removing them from screens for the new movies was somewhat logical. Last year saw 50% Friday increases (last few weeks saw that as well)

It really isn't that big of a difference in the US anymore especially with MI5 playing on IMAX and the higher ticketed larger format screens.  Hell, my local theater charges $19.50 for RPX and $18.50 for 3D.

Solid $20.3M opening day for #MissionImpossibleRogueNation going to about $52M wknd. Intl set for $60M from 40 mkts.

THR 52.5m

Overseas, the movie is even bigger, already grossing $26.3 million for an expected weekend launch of $60 million, putting the movie's global bow at roughly $112 million. Internationally,Rogue Nation scored the biggest opening day of Cruise's career in 20 markets. And in South Korea, it amassed $16 million, blowing away previous Mission titles and delivering Paramount its biggest first day behind Transformers: Dark of the Moon. It is also the second best showing of the year so far behind Avengers: Age of Ultron.

I don't think it will do badly domestically.... It will do more than its budget.

Well, EVERYTHING died Friday, for some reason.

Not bad for MI5 but not great either. Not really sure what else Paramount could have done with this one, it's just abundantly clear we're in a bit of an attendance dip at the box office and nothing is really breaking out of that mold. Still, mid-50s is absolutely fine, especially since legs should be pretty good.

Too little too late for Vacation. Should close below Horrible Bosses 2.

Ant-Man faced direct competition, unlike anything else playing. Still aiming for 155 or so. Not bad, not great.

Minions keeps bleeding. Doesn't seem like it'll top Shrek the Third DOM.

IO will have a drop in the high 30s which is still pretty consistent with its July holds. Nemo will fall soon, 350 mark will probably have to wait until its inevitable Labor Day bump.

No its not normal. Last year was bigger for most films.

There were more adult skewing and rated R pics last year.  On avg they went up from 50-70%.  Same ballpark as this year with Vacation actually doing near 80%.    Same for 2013.  Family and kid skewed pics rose in the 20-30%s.

Movie City News is reporting that The End of the Tour did $43,500 yesterday from 4 theaters (an opening day average of $10,875). Should be between $35-40,000 PTA for the weekend. Should expand well. Hopefully I'll have time to see it when it expands in the weeks ahead.

Family and kid skewing movies have been increasing 50% on Fridays this year. This week is a down week for increases.
