It will be interesting to see how many more studios follow this model, versus the typical Thanksgiving-Christmas crunch for award pedigree films.

Apparently it's due to Bond. They don't have the money to put up an Oscar campaign with it held up...

Hudson was nowhere close to the frontrunner. She's far behind McDormand, Davis, and Kirby. She would've only gotten a nomination.

Saw this the other day.  It is fine, but not great.  About 10 minutes too long, sort of paint by numbers but the ending and credits are fantastic. 

 

Should do some business in August.

Yeah, its not Ray or Rocketman or Bohemian or Walk the Line.  It is mid-lower tier biopic.
