who is Stuckmann? (or what?) and I just saw it and it was barely better than QoS. even my dad who is usually very easily entertain with these kind of movies found it only okay. I mean it most likely will hit $200m. maybe $220m but it is getting mixed WoM. not near on par with Skyfall.

Chris Stuckmann(film critic on YouTube) but it's expected to be not as good. But it's not getting shit like Die Another Day, or TWINE.

Too early to tell, bro.

Craig does not have a contract for returning as Bond, and distributor announcement will happen in early 2016

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/spectre-producer-expects-daniel-craig-837655

Quote

James Bond film producer Michael G. Wilson says he expects Daniel Craig will return for a fifth outing as the iconic 007.

"I think we've got Daniel Craig," Wilson tells The Hollywood Reporter in an interview, waving aside the actor's recent protestations that he was through with the role. Wilson makes a comparison to director Sam Mendes, who said he was done with Bond after 2012's Skyfall, only to return for Spectre. "[Mendes] said they were never going to make the picture again, and he told the press that."

Asked if Craig was legally bound to do another Bond film, however, Wilson acknowledges: "We don't have a contract."

Wilson says he has met with executives from the prospective studios. Asked how one would be chosen, he continues: "It's almost impossible for us to evaluate it except on the basis of their past successes or failures. That's the only thing you can use. You know, until you work with people, you can't evaluate their marketing executives or their publicity people...  And we pretty much run the marketing anyway, ourselves. So they execute it. We create it and they execute it."
In terms of timeframe, he says a decision will be made "probably in January or February."

I wonder how many times people have said this after a disappointing Installment? 4,5,8 times?

No, I'm honestly not a bond fan. I like Skyfall (but I only watched it twice) and Casino Royale is okay. I haven't seen any bond films fully aside from the Craig ones. and his flawed character womanizer/alcohol addiction. is unappealing to me and the fact that the character never changes in this matter makes the movies really redundant and old.

You should probably try out On Her Majesty's Secret Service

The Bond actor in it isn't my favourite one, but I think you might get to know a side of Bond that might surprise you

Goldeneye also has one sentence I really find matching, but that ones very spoilerish (found in wiki):

Spoiler

In GoldenEye, Alec Trevelyan tells Bond, "I might as well ask you if all those vodka martinis ever silence the screams of all the men you've killed... or if you find forgiveness in the arms of all those willing women for all the dead ones you failed to protect."

In GoldenEye M is btw the first time played by a woman (Dench) and I love 007 & 006's entry scene

I keep flip flopping between Goldeneye and Casino Royale for my favorite Bond movie with Goldfinger sometimes in consideration (but that is more because of a really good villain more than anything else). Most of the times though, Goldeneye is the easy #1

giphy.gif

Brosnan had 1 good Bond movie in TWINE and one excellent one in Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never Dies gets more things right than wrong. It is kind of sad that his legacy is remembered as Die Another Day instead of the 3 competent to downright excellent movies he was a part of.

If SPECTRE is as divisive as opinions here suggest (haven't seen it yet), Craig should really come back for a sequel. If he doesn't, his legacy as Bond will be tied to SPECTRE, and with the passage of time, and the fact that Craig didn't return, SPECTRE's reputation will take a big hit.

GoldenEye and Goldfinger have also really good and mathichg songs (doesn't mean the other are not good or...), both are in my favourite group too!

As more interesting the villian(s)....

Agree, I think Brosnan did good work there, I am not one of the ones who forgot the real work he did as Bond. Remember as he got introduced as the next Bond?

On Her Majesty's Secret Service is IMHO the ones that is the base / reason for the women 'consuming' appearing way of him, he was always a ~ let's have fun type, but

Spoiler

after that one I guess he never dared to earnestly open up again.

2ND UPDATE, 12:15PM: For 007, box office, not diamonds are forever. Industry projections have the opening weekend for Spectre at $80M –still second best James Bond opening behind Skyfall– with an eye on a $30M Friday. By the way, Skyfall made $30.5M on its opening day. Again, the bigger the box office in the long run, the more leverage that Bond rights holders –MGM chief Gary Barber and Danjaq producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli — will have in their negotiations as other studios vie for the franchise rights. Again, that discussion will happen after all the global receipts and ancillaries are counted on Spectre. CinemaScore, which will come in later tonight, will definitely have an impact on the leg-out factor for Spectre. Of the last three Daniel Craig films, Quantum of Solace earned the lowest grade at B- and finaled at $168.4M, 2.5x its $67.5M debut. Skyfall had the best grade with an A and a domestic B.O. of $304.36M, which was 3.4x its $88.36M FSS opening. Casino Royale cashed in $167.4M off an A- CinemaScore, which repped a 4x leg-out from its $40.8M opening.

20th Century Fox’s The Peanuts Movie is also doing well with a $14M Friday and a weekend that is at least in the mid $40M range. Rival distribs think it could even get to $50M possibly. Some schools are off today due to parent teacher conferences in the state of New Jersey and cities like Chicago, Denver and Los Angeles and this could potentially be fuelding business. Holding up well in third is Fox’s The Martian which looks to be down 35% in its 6th frame at the No. 3 spot with $7.6M over the three-day and a cume by Sunday of $195.4M.

12:15pm on the west coast. Way more than enough time for numbers to fluctuate really wildly. But it should give us an idea of the trending for the movies as well.

They didn't include the 8pm and on IMAX in that opening day, just the midnights.  Total figure was $32,704,077  for Skyfall.  QOS had a $27m Friday.  If it legs it to an $80m w/e that's still strong numbers and about on par with QOS adjusted for inflation.

Great number for Peanuts.
