The substantial diminishing trend of lower opening and overall grosses for MJ1 and MJ2 are bad signs for Allegiant 1 and 2. They might not even reach 100M total.

Which would happen even if TFA is the worst movie ever made and MJ2 had been the greatest movie ever made.

280 is my guess. Late legs have been great for Hunger Games series but with SW7 coming out MJ2 won't have great legs.

I'd say 270 would be likely under normal circumstances, but because of SW I think only 250 will happen.

The two part finale seems to work financally cause you double the money but creativily it seems audiences are worn out by it.  YA might need a new formula and let a Trilogy be a trilogy.

Did a rough guesstimate at how well our theatre did with MockingJay this weekend and from what I can see it opened to around the equivalent of 95M here, give or take a little bit. That would put it ahead of SPECTRE (90M) as the #4 opener of 2015.
