DEADPOOL WEEKEND THREAD | Deadpool 152.193 actual. Daily breakdown on page 159

This is the year of Baumers man crushes killing it.

First Sly gets nominated for an oscar and now Ryan Reynolds is on top of the world.

Now if Bill Paxton get some kind of unholy recognition this year for something I am definitely in line to win very big lottery jackpot.

LOL I would love it if Bill Paxton had a comeback. Man's been underused in nothing roles for far too long.

Wow, it keeps on climbing. This will be Fox's biggest opening ever. The crazy thing is, a rated-R movie gave it to them. lol

Good thing Tom Rothman is no longer at Fox. Deadpool staying true to character and having a R rating would've never happened with him there.

Poor Sony. Poor Spider-Man. Poor Kevin Feige.

So essentially, R-rated Deadpool will have a bigger 3-day opening than every 2014 movie including Mockingjay Part 1, 5th biggest of 2015 behind TFA, JW, AOU and F7 (putting it above the likes of Minions and MJ2), and a bigger opening than every Superman movie including MOS, every X-Men movie ever period, every Spider-Man movie except for SM3, and every MCU movie without Avengers or Iron Man in the title.

Its really hard to comprehend just how big this is.

On top of that, Deadpool will likely outgross SM3.

Question is, can it outgross every other CBM outside of the first Avengers?

You think it could out gross TDK?:redcapes:

Hmm...

All I can really say is that the power of Christ will compel Ryan Reynolds once Deadpool outgrosses Passion of the Christ as the top grossing R-rated movie of all time.

So now what are the most coveted weekends to release a film?

Pre-MLK and MLK weekends are pretty good. Pre-President's Day and President's Day weekend are prime-times as well. March has been blockbuster land for a while and April usually gets big movies when Easter is in mid to late in the month (this year they will try April without Easter so lets see how it goes).

May is pretty good, except the 2nd weekend of the month unless you are comedy or a romance blockbuster. June and July are all great. August until the middle is good. Mid to late September is becoming a great time to open a movie as well, and the first weekend of October is Jesus nowadays.

November is a carbon copy of May, the 2nd weekend is usually bad because it gets sandwiched between two big releases unless you are a big comedy and you have the big holiday at the end of it. Everything from after Thanksgiving until the weekend before Christmas is a garbage time to open a movie.
